CHMSC remained actively involved in the activities of the WESVARRDEC especially in the Techno Gabay Program and STBF implementation. During the last quarter of 2012, the research group and Techno-Gabay team conducted the 2nd Phase of the STBF project on Off-Season Cantaloupe Melon Production under the supervision of the Magsasakang Siyentista (MS) Jose Vicente Alemany, Escalante FITs Manager Ferdinand Alico, and Christopher Gallardo, the Technical Expert of this project. There was also a study tour of farmers of FITS Escalante in RU Foundry Shop Eco Farm, Pahanocoy, Bacolod City.
2012 marked the final completion of the CHED-funded collaborative study entitled "Characterization of Ilog-Hilabangan River System: A Multi-Disciplinary Study". CHMSC is one of the cooperating institution of this study.
Dr. Romeo G. Teruel, Research Director of the University of La Salle (the lead institution) turned over a copy of the final research output to the college last October 15, 2012 at the CHMSC-Main Campus.This was officially received by the Vice President for Research and Extension, Dr. Renato B. Salmingo, and the Vice President for Administration, Dr. Eduardo G. Sayson.
CHMSC established the "Pasalubong Center and Techno Bazaar" as a marketing scheme in support of its Food Processing and Livelihood Project, and to showcase the "Best Products" of the eleven (11) SUC's (State Universities and Colleges) in Region VI. It was inaugurated on November 22, 2012. It started with a capital of PHP40,000.00 loaned from the Production Fund of the college.
