Types of Scholarship

College

1. FACULTY AND STAFF EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS (BOT Resolution #154, S. 2005 as amended)

- Free tuition fees granted to legal spouse, son or daughter of any permanent faculty and staff of CHMSC.

- The guidelines and criteria that provide a set of bases for the entitlement of the said privilege are the following:

•The dependent is entitled to enroll in only one college degree/program and must pass the entry requirements;

•The dependent has not acquired any college degree;

•The grant does not cover other continuing education (e.g graduate study, etc.);

•Dependent are entitled to the said privilege even their parent(s) already retired from or died during the service;

•This privilege ceases upon resignation or termination from the service for cause of the employee. In this case, enrolled children will pay the tuition fee during the particular semester.

•The free tuition is only applicable in all CHMSC campuses/branches degree program offerings.

2. COLLEGE ATHLETIC INCENTIVES (BOT Resolution #2, S. 1994)

- Discount on tuition fees granted to qualified athletes of the college who actively participated in any sports events: 100%- National or International; 75 % - Regional; 50 %- Local/ Institutional

- The grantee should passed at least 80% of all enrolled subjects.

3. BARANGAY EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS/BRGY. SCHOLARSHIP (Per RA 7169 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE Local Government Code of 1991 , CHMSC BOT Resolution #367, S.2008 and CHED Order # 62, S. 1997)

- The applicant must comply with the admission policies of the college.

- Does not enjoy any scholarship grant sponsored by the government.

- Should have a general average of 85 for the degree courses or 83 for the non-degree course.

- The applicant’s residence should be near the college. She/he may likewise avail of the said grant if residing within the province of Negros Occidental or cities to which the barangay belongs.

- The grant should only limit to two (2) qualified and deserving children of the Barangay officials during the incumbency of the said official.

- The applicant should not be more than 21 years old.

- The annual income of the applicant’s parents should not exceed P72,000.00

4. ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP (BOT Resolution # 63, S. 2010)

- Academic scholarship is awarded to high school graduates who obtain the following honors: Valedictorian (100% discount on tuition fees), Salutatorian (75% discount on tuition fees) and First Honorable Mention (50% discount on tuition fees).

- Requirements: Passed the admission requirements of the college, Photo copy of report card, Certificate of achievement as valedictorian, Salutatorian or First Honorable Mention, Certificate of good moral character, Certificate on that does not enjoy any scholarship grant sponsored by the government.

5. DEDUCTION OF TUITION FEE PAYMENTS FOR THREE OR MORE SIBLINGS STUDYING AT CHMSC (BOT RESOLUTION # 57, S. 2010)

- For 3 siblings (Regular tuition fee for 2 Siblings, 100% Free Tuition Fee for 1 sibling.

- For 4 siblings (Regular tuition fee for 2 Siblings, 100% Free Tuition Fee for 1 sibling, 75% Free Tuition Fee for 1 sibling.

- For 5 siblings (Regular tuition fee for 2 Siblings, 100% Free Tuition Fee for 1 sibling, 75% Free Tuition Fee for 1 sibling, 50% Free Tuition Fee for 1 sibling.

 

6. SUPREME STUDENT GOVERNMENT INCENTIVES (SSG) (BOT Resolution # 57, s. 2010 as amended.)

- Refund of fees granted to SSG officers during their term of office: President (100% tuition and Misc. fees), Vice President (75% tuition fee only),Other Officers (50% tuition fee only)

- The refund shall be granted aft er the submission of the following: (Per semester basis) Certification of no other scholarship grants sponsored by the government, Accomplishment report signed by the adviser, Certification from the office of the Discipline officer that he/she has no disciplinary probation, Enrolment form (Photo copy) b .Assessment form (Photo copy)c. Official receipt of payment (Photo copy)

7. STUDENT ASSISTANCESHIP PROGRAM

- Aims to provide extra income to students to help augment his/her daily needs while studying. An honorarium of P15.00 per hour (BOT Resolution # 534, S.2009) is granted to a working scholar assigned to different offices of the college during his/her vacant periods. 

Qualifications: Preference is given to upper years (Minimum of two(2) semesters of residence); Does not have a failing or incomplete grades; Vacant periods or number of hours rendered for work should not be more than 4 hour/day, 20 hours/week and 100 hours/month. Requirements: Duly accomplished application form 2.1x1 I.D. picture; Barangay clearance; Parent’s ITR or certification of exemption from the BIR; Photo copy of enrolment form; Schedule of classes; Medical certificate; Proof of insurance; Grades for the last semester attended

Private Sector

1. ASSOCIATED PLANTERS OF SILAY- SARAVIA, INC. ( SILAY HAWAIIAN CENTRAL )

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Applicants are qualified dependents of sugar mill or farm workers. Selection of grantees is based on scholastic records and income of parents. Qualifying exam and interview are part of the screening procedure.

2. BACPAT SCHOLARSHIP GRANT (BACPAT YOUTH DEV’T FOUNDATION, INC.)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Selection of qualified applicants is based on scholastic record, good moral character and income of parents, general average of 85% and above.

3. CLASS’70 SCHOLARSHIP GRANT (CLASS ’70 OF SILAY INSTITUTE)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Scholarship is awarded to poor but deserving children of class ’70 of Silay Institute.

4. FIRST FARMERS EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE (FFMC)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Applicants are qualified dependent of FFMC employees. They should belong to the top 10% of the graduating class. Passed the qualifying exam and interview.

5. HON.HERNAN LOPEZ FOUNNDATION (HON. HERNAN LOPEZ)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Selection of qualified applicants is based on the result of BSCE Top 10 qualified for enrolment. Interview is part of the screening procedure.

6. JFC SKILLS ENHANCED AND EDUCATION (JOLLIBEE FOUNDATION FOODS CORP. SEEDS)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- SEEDS applicants must be a high school graduate, with high grade average of 80 and above or its equivalent, if previously enrolled in college. Aged between 18-24 years old, of good moral character and demonstrate character that is suited to the service industry. Applicants must meet the cut- off rate for the PARTNER SCHOOL’s entrance exam, priority given to those from marginalized families and are not recipient of any scholarship grant.

7. MIAO DE BODHISATTVA SOCIETY FOUNDATION INC. (MIAO DE CHAN FOUNDATION)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Selection of qualified applicants is based on scholastic record, good moral character and income of parents, general average of 85% and above.

8. NEHA (TAKARAZUKA KAI FOUNDATION, INC.)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Selection of qualified applicants is based on scholastic record, good moral character and income of parents, general average of 85 % and above.

9. PARENT- TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Scholarships is awarded to poor but deserving daughter/ son of CHMSC – Alumni.

10. PROJECT DUNGGANON (NWTF)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Scholarship is awarded to poor but deserving children of Dungganon members.

11. REAL LIFE FOUNDATION (REAL LIFE FOUNDATION INC.)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Selection of qualified applicants is based on scholastic record, good moral character and income of parents, general average of 85% and above.

12. SIFI EDUCATIONAL AID PROGRAM (SUGAR INDUSTRY FOUNDATION)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Applicants are qualified dependents of sugar mill of farm workers. Selection of grantees is based on scholastic records and income of parents. Qualifying exam and interview are part of the screening procedure.

13. SIMAG EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SIMAG FOUNDATION)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Applicants are qualified dependents of sugar mill and farm workers. They should belong to the upper 10% of graduating class. Qualifying exam and interview are part of the screening procedures.

14. STITCHING ANAK NEGROS (STITCHING ANAK NEGROS INC.)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Scholarship is awarded to poor but deserving students.

15. SUNGKOD FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP (SUNGKOD FOUNDATION)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Scholarship is awarded to poor but deserving students.

16. DON SIMPLICIO SCHOLARSHIP

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees with allowances

- Scholarship is awarded to poor but deserving students in nearby cities.

17. LIFE BANK FOUNDATION

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees with allowances

- Parents of the scholars must be a member of LifeBank Foundation not less than 7 years.

Government Sector

1. CHED SCHOLARSHIP

2. SCIENCE EDUCATION Inst. R. 7687 (DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees, with monthly allowance 4,000.00, Book and uniform allowance.

- Applicant should belong to the 10% of the graduating class in high school and should passed the national qualifying exam of the DOST

3. DCS, DES, VOC. TECH., PEACE, INDIGENOUS, PEOPLE,PAGKAON (Province of Negros Occidental(NOSP)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees, with monthly allowance 2, 500.00, Book and uniform allowance.

- Province wide selection of applicants based on scholastic record and income of parents. Applicants should pass the qualifying exam and interview conducted by the Provincial Scholarship Committee.

4. EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT (LGU: Bacolod, Brgy. Guimbala-on, Brgy. Mansilingan, Don Salvador Benedicto, Escalante, Himamaylan, Kabankalan, Isabela, La Castellana, Sagay and Silay)

- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees

- Selection of grantees is based on grantees is based on GPA and income of parents, and a resident of a said municipality or city.

5. EXANDED STUDENT GRANT-IN-AID PROGRAM FOR POVERTY ALLEVIATION(ESGP-PA)

- Free Tuition Fee and miscellaneous fees with book and monthly allowance.

- This scholarship is intended for students who are beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program.

6. SCHOOL BASED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (ACADEMIC, AFP, ATHLETICS , BRGY., FACULTY, AND STAFF, AND THREE OR MORE SIBLINGS(CHMSC)

- Tuition Fee only

- Qualification of scholarship is based on the guidelines approved by BOT.

7. PHILIPPINE BUSINESS FOR EDUCATION (1000 TEACHERS PROGRAM)

- Free tuition fee and with monthly allowance of 2,000.00 and book allowance

- Selection of scholars will be based on a competitive examination that will be given in TEIs, grades, leadership qualities and recommendation.
