The student athletes of the CHMSC delegation battled it out with other SUC athletes to emerge victorious as 3rd runner-up out of the 11 competing schools during the Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) VI Olympics held on December 17-22 at Victoria’s City.
The College brought home 30 gold medals, 51 silver medals, and 66 bronze medals resulting to the 4th place over-all finish.
Among the remarkable wins for CHMSC this year are the 1st place finish of Darlene Callas and Eric John Corpuz in the Dance sports, Latin-American Category, and the second place finish of Marjorie De La Cruz and Romulo Andrada, Jr. in the Modern Standard Category—both couples will represent PASUC VI in the Nationals.
Likewise, CHMSC CE student Richard Samuel Sioson bagged the Mr. RSCUAA VI title, as well as Best in Barong, Best in Swimwear, and Best in Festive Attire.
True to its core value of student-centeredness, the College gave its all-out support to the development of the students even in the bodily-kinesthetic domain of intelligence.
The teacher-coaches and even the top management took time out of their busy schedules to personally accompany the student athletes and get them settled in their assigned billeting areas.
The support from the faculty and staff, and especially the top management went a long way in spurring on the student athletes to bring honor to the College while keeping their sportsmanship, credibility and honor intact— a testament to the Green Culture the College advocates.
