Talisay Mayor Eric Saratan imparted an inspirational message during the College Week Celebration and Intercampus Meet at the Talisay Campus grounds last November 11.
He briefly talked about how CHMSC has helped the city, and how, conversely, his administration will do its best to help CHMSC in its endeavors as well, considering that the college is one of the key players in his vision of a student-friendly zone.
The four-day simultaneous events ran from November 11 to 14 with a myriad of activities ranging from motorcades and parades to sports and athletics competitions.
Day 1 was marked by the Opening Ceremonies, where Mayor Saratan was the guest of honor, followed by the opening of the different departmental exhibits and open house viewing, and also the start of the sports events.
Day 2 highlights included the CIT Skills Olympics, the SAS Artes et Sciencia Dies, And more sports events.
Day 3 made way for Teacher Education and Lab School Day, Academic Quiz Bee, and simultaneously the next phase of the sports events.
The last day was dedicated to the Employees’ Wellness, Literary and Cultural Events, and finally the Closing Ceremony and Awarding.
The Talisay Campus was hailed as the champion for the cultural events with 50 points, followed by Fortune Towne as the first runner-up with 39, Binalbagan as the second runner-up with 34, and Alijis as the third runner-up with 24.
For the sports events, the Talisay Campus also topped with 103 gold medals, followed by first runner-up Fortune Towne with 66, second runner-up Binalbagan with 20, and third runner-up Alijis with 9.
In keeping with the times, this year’s theme was fittingly worded as, “Cultural, Literary, Sports, and Academic Development towards ASEAN Integration.”
