The Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research Conference is the first research conference organized by the western Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (WVCIEERD). It will gather student and faculty researchers, inventors, and innovators in the field of industry, energy and emerging technology from the various institutions in Western Visayas.
This year’s conference will be held on November 21-22, 201 in Natures’s Village Resort, Talisay City, Negros Occidental. The conference will focus on three R&D Clusters: (1) Food Safety and Security; (2) Energy Effiency and Renewable Energy, and; (3) Electroics, ICT and Emerging Technology.
Bannered by the theme, “Convergence of Researches in Food, Energy and ICT for the Smart and Sustainable Communities”, the activity aims to present the opportunities to strengthen R&D capabilities, dissemination, utilization and collaborations among the members of the consortium. This activity will showcase researches from the member institutions of WVIEERD through research presentations and competitions.
The activity has three major parts. The first part is a plenary session which will talk about the latest technology trends in the fields of food Safety and Security, Energy Effiency and Renewable Energy and Electronis, ICT and Emerging Technology. The second part is a series of competitions on oral and poster research presentations for faculty and student researchers. Lastly, the third part of the conference is composed of three training sessions for faculty reseachers. The training sessions will be done simultaneously on the second day. Other activities will include product pitching from the invited sponsors and identification of research collaborations among the consortium’s member-institutions. Led by the Department of Science and Technology Region VI in partneship with Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas (TUPV) and Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC), the IEET Conference is a result of the collaboration of the 21 member-institutions of the WVCIEERD.
